Bring both journeys
Start with the driver’s route and the passenger’s destination — or their starting point for a pickup.
A product in development
A small detour for the driver. A manageable journey for the passenger. Waypoint is being built to help you find a meeting point that works for both.

Illustration only · not a real route
The idea
Start with the driver’s route and the passenger’s destination — or their starting point for a pickup.
Consider extra driving alongside walking and transit. The closest point on a map may not make the easiest journey.
Review the options and agree on a point. Stopping suitability and pedestrian access need separate confirmation.
Interactive concept
Try a comparison using fictional sample times. This is an explanation of the product idea, not a live route recommendation or a Claude response.
Journey
Emphasis
Keep the driver close to their route
Share the extra travel effort
A shorter walk for the passenger
Point B best fits equal emphasis in this sample: 4 minutes of extra driving and a 6-minute onward walk.
The example uses a simple weighted time score and makes no map or Claude API calls. Real recommendations will also need route data, arrival timing, access checks and your constraints.
Development
Waypoint is at an early prototype stage. The next step is to validate route comparisons and evaluate how Claude can help people express what matters to them.
Mobile screens and backend calculation code exist, including code for driving, walking and public transit integrations. Live integrations and the complete journey still need validation; a public web calculator is not available yet.
We plan to use Claude to interpret preferences, ask about missing constraints and explain computed alternatives. Routing tools and explicit code will provide the travel estimates and enforce constraints.
Validate candidate routes, handle unavailable data clearly and test whether explanations stay faithful to the results. We have not yet measured travel savings or Claude performance.
